Naming children after others?

I'm not pregnant but I want to get people's advice on this. My stepmom was pregnant 18 years ago with a baby girl she was going to name Amanda. Her due date was close to what my birthday is now, the same year and everything. However when she was 7 months pregnant she was d and lost her baby over it. Because of a combination of that, a car accident she was in 11 years ago, and PCOS, she was never able to get pregnant again. I have known my step mom since I was 12 years old and I am closer to her than my birth mother or my father. I was thinking recently that it might be a nice gift to my step mom to give my first daughter the middle name of Amanda but I don't know any good first names. Any suggestions?
