Does getting a front filling redone hurt!?

im 15, and when i was 9 i had a filling put in,its been yellow for years but im afraid of dentists so left it this way,now in going back to get it redone,will it hurt?,what exactly will they do?,would i have to get a needle cuz im petrified! please help!!:)
