What do you think Obama should do about the importation of oil from the Alberta Tar Sands?

No question about it, he should tell them to leave that crap in the ground. Not only does the energy-intensive conversion of the tar sands directly generate two to four times the amount of greenhouse gases per barrel of final product as the production of conventional oil, but Canada is wasting relatively clean energy (natural gas, and maybe nuclear) to extract it. And as if that weren't bad enough, it consumes huge amounts of water! And it results in the strip mining of Canada's Boreal Forest, a critical carbon sink!!
