My friend just got bitten by a zombie, but the full side effects haven't kicked in yet. what do I do?

He's turning into a 28 days later zombie, so those rules apply, but its taking a while to get into his system. So in that sense the virus is similar to dawn of the dead rules. Anyways, I need an answer quick, because my buddy, is a real cool guy, and I don't want to be responsible for the very first zombie epidemic.
